Back in the days when Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) was still dead in Coronation Street, her grieving wife Lisa (Vicky Myers) would talk about her in glowing terms as a loving and loveable wife and mother and a heroic police officer.
Yes, there had been a whiff of wrongdoing hanging around her when she died, and in fact she was being investigated for corruption, but Lisa was convinced that her wife had been innocent all along.
We now know that Lisa possibly didn’t know her wife very well at all, as since Becky returned from the dead we’ve seen she’s capable of anything in her quest to reclaim the family she had to leave behind while she was ‘dead.’ And that, as it turns out, includes murder.
We’ve already seen Becky threatening Costello (Daon Broni) by covertly taking pictures of his daughter and sending them to him. And she’s lied and tricked her way into being allowed to stay at Lisa and Carla’s home, pretending that she has no idea who sent her a wreath with a death threat attached when she’s actually pretty sure it was Costello.

In upcoming episodes, Costello fails to show up for work and Kit (Jacob Roberts) is concerned. It transpires that Costello has been brutally attacked, and in the wake of this, Kit is suspicious that Becky could be the one responsible and shares his concerns with Lisa.
Obviously the idea that Becky could have been engaging in a spot of GBH doesn’t go down well with Lisa and she sets about trying to find out who battered Costello. Eventually she tells Becky that they’ve traced the person who attacked Costello, an individual who goes by the name of Soap.

While Becky pretends she’s never heard of this character, a short while later we see her meeting up with him to retrieve Costello’s burner phone and personal phone, and it’s obvious that Becky orchestrated the attack.

What's ahead for Becky, Carla and Lisa this Christmas in Coronation Street?
Becky is on a mission to create the perfect family Christmas as the festive season gets under way in Coronation Street.
She’s finally got her way and Carla is out of the picture, her relationship with Lisa now totally destroyed by Becky’s machinations. She wastes no time in reclaiming her family, but there’s still one big thorn in her side – Costello.
He’s showing signs of recovering from his injuries – and Becky can’t allow that to happen. She takes drastic measures to make sure he can’t ruin things for her by revealing what he knows.
Meanwhile she’s manipulating both Lisa and Betsy, and her Christmas plans turn into a terrifying nightmare for them both.
Mystery also surrounds Carla, who is posting on social media from a carefree holiday in Lanzarote. But is she really?
It seems the only person who can untangle all of this is Kit, who is trying to decipher messages from Costello’s phone that could give him a clue about what’s been going on. As Kit gets closer to the truth, is Becky about to get her comeuppance? Or could Kit’s life be in danger as he threatens to expose her lies?
Costello has been so badly beaten that the doctors have put him in an induced coma. As long as he’s unconscious and at death’s door he’s no threat to Becky but when she hears that the doctors are planning to bring him round she knows he could implicate her and she grimly heads to the hospital.
In sinister scenes she checks there’s no one around and grabs a syringe, apparently intent on making sure that he never wakes up at all.

But when Lisa unexpectedly arrives at the hospital, is she about to catch her former wife in the middle of her murderous act and discover Becky’s true colours?
