By Alex KirschenbaumShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberSecond-year Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James is continuing to get reps in the NBA's developmental league. He and rookie forward Adou Thiero were assigned to LA's G League affiliate team in El Segundo, the South Bay Lakers, last week.
Bronny James, eldest son of 21-time All-NBA Los Angeles power forward LeBron James, suited up for his second NBAGL game of the season Sunday.

Like the first clash, the Lakers battled the G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, the Santa Cruz Warriors.
James did not fare nearly as well as he did in that initial game.
In another Tip-Off Tournament (essentially the G League's preseason) game at home in El Segundo, the 6-foot-2 USC product scored seven points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field (1-of-8 from distance), although he did manage to dish out eight assists and pull down three rebounds. The 21-year-old also notched an encouraging +15 plus-minus, second-best on the team beyond Smith's +16.
...Every other South Bay starter scored in double digits, led by 22 points apiece from two-way players Drew Timme and Nick Smith Jr. South Bay bested Santa Cruz, 108-105, to keep the (G League) Warriors winless on the year. South Bay improved to a 5-1 overall record (5-0 at home) for the Tip-Off Tournament.

Through his two G League games this year, the younger James has been averaging 11.0 points on .381/.231/.667 shooting splits, 8.0 dimes, 3.5 boards, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per. Los Angeles selected the young guard on a flier with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Although he inked a fully-guaranteed four-year standard roster deal with LA (rare for such a low second-round selection), it was understood that James would be logging a lot of time in the G League as he continues to build out his offensive game.
