Amid Kiffin's candidacy for the open jobs at LSU and Florida, the No. 6 Rebels need to defeat the Bulldogs to have a (slight) chance to compete in the SEC championship and for standing in the College Football Playoff race.
On Monday, Kiffin told reporters that he didn't believe Ole Miss players were distracted by his very public coaching decision.

"I've said it before, it’s a different generation, guys. ... (Players) can leave every year, a lot of that is financially based," Kiffin said via Sports Illustrated. "They don’t think the traditional way like years ago about their coach, what’s gonna go on with them next year. That's not how they think anymore."
Per Aaron Torres of Fox Sports, some Rebels players are unhappy with the "circus" Kiffin is dragging the locker room into this week.
"I can tell you, unequivocally, from 100 percent sourced, first hand knowledge, Lane Kiffin is *not* speaking for all his players here," Torres posted on X. "There are a lot of guys in that locker room who are not happy to be part of the Lane Kiffin circus. Nor do I blame them."

Earlier on Monday, Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss suggested the team is focused on Mississippi State amid questions surrounding Kiffin's future.
"To our fans, this team is completely locked in, living in the moment, and staying true to our 1-0 mindset for the Egg Bowl and future games. We are unbothered by anything about next year and fully trusting Coach Kiffin’s leadership to keep us moving toward our goals!" Chambliss posted on X.
Regardless of how the players and Kiffin plan to get through the week, Kiffin intends to coach on Friday. Kiffin believes it's important for him to finish the season leading the team.
However, it's unclear if he will coach Ole Miss in the postseason.
How would the locker room react if Kiffin didn't coach in the CFP?
