My favorite ever Lego set, Lego Rivendell, is on offer for Black Friday - and it isn't even Black Friday yet.
Because patience is apparently overrated, Amazon just hit 'go' on its Black Friday discounts a whole week ahead of schedule... which is why Lego Rivendell has come crashing back down to £365.49 at Amazon instead of £430. That's a price cut of £64.50 overall, and brings the kit to within tickling distance of a record low price. Seeing as this is arguably amongst the best Lego sets ever made, I'd say that's worth sounding the alarm for.

Lego Rivendell | £429.99 £365.49 at AmazonSave £64.50 - This saving is just £1.50 or so off an all-time low price, meaning Amazon isn't here to play. Because the kit also has the official Black Friday deal label, I don't know if we're likely to see a better offer either during the full Black Friday Lego deals.Buy it if:✅ You want the ultimate Lego set✅ You're a massive LotR nerd like me✅ You want a real showstopper modelDon't buy it if:❌ You hate tricksy little hobbitses❌ You don't have loads of display spacePrice check:💲 Lego | £429.99
View DealAs you may be able to tell from my glowing, five-star Lego Rivendell review, I think this is hands down the best Lego model ever made. Yes, its sheer size and spectacle are jaw-dropping when seen in person. However, its attention to detail is more astounding. It feels like every single nook and cranny has been filled with references, Easter eggs, and signs of life; it's as though you've stumbled upon a snapshot frozen in time. I particularly like lifting the gazebo up to reveal a bustling forge underneath, or peeking into Bilbo's tower room where he's writing his memoirs. (And yep, he has an alternate face design to recreate that terrifying scene from Fellowship.)
There's an army of minifigures to go with it too, from the Fellowship of the Ring in its entirety to Lord Elrond, Arwen, and more. You can actually set up the characters sitting in their chairs for the Council of Elrond, with the One Ring placed on the pedestal in the middle.
The only downside here is the scale of this thing. It's massive, and make no mistake - you'll need an entire shelf or the top of a unit to display it on. In addition, it's a very long, involved build. It's not something you can finish in an evening, and will take anywhere between 10 and 20 hours (or slightly more, depending on your speed).
Goodness me is it worthwhile, though. I reviewed the kit years ago and it's still the high watermark of quality in a Lego set so far as I'm concerned. We've had some very impressive models dropping since it released, but none can live up to Rivendell as yet... and that's saying something.
