The LSU Tigers have reportedly gone hard after Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin as the program's next leader, though the coach's indecision has left them at a standstill.
According to reports, the coaching carousel is stalled while Kiffin decides his future. He has offers from the Florida Gators, LSU, and the Rebels, all of which would make him very rich and give him a budget to use in the transfer portal.

The Tigers fired Brian Kelly earlier in the season, making the drastic decision to cut ties with their high-priced coach. He seemingly had a poor relationship with fans and LSU personnel alike, and it finally came to a head when the on-field product also began to falter.
Now, with an interim leader at the helm, the program conducted a coaching search and has zeroed in on Kiffin, a man with a checkered past, but whose results at Ole Miss are undeniable.
...He took Ole Miss from a rudderless SEC team to a powerhouse in the conference and a budding playoff team, which has taken the next step this season and has all but secured its spot in the College Football Playoffs.

Still, while LSU appears committed to Kiffin, the feeling is not the same, at least not at the moment, and the coach could very well stay at Ole Miss and finish what he started in Mississippi.
In case he does, LSU is covering its bases. Per reporting from On3 college football insider Pete Nakos, there is a candidate who is popular within the Tigers' program.
"Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz has become a popular name in the LSU search, too," Nakos wrote in a story for On3.

Drinkwitz is another coach who has done good work rebuilding a struggling SEC team. Missouri was underdelivering for a while until he came in and elevated its profile.
This season, they have a great defense that the offense has let down in key spots, but they are a competitive team capable of giving any of the elite teams a scare.
He would likely take the job quickly and is likely willing to wait until Kiffin makes his decision, as opportunities to coach a team like LSU and potentially rebuild it do not come often.
Ultimately, as is the case with Florida, Ole Miss, and LSU, Drinkwitz's future is in Kiffin's hands.
