Becky Lynch spent a large part of 2024 away from WWE television, which led to initial speculation that her in-ring career might have ended. It was later revealed that the time away was used to focus on various acting commitments. One of her major projects was a role in the upcoming series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

Collider recently shared a first look at the wrestler-turned-actor's character in the new show. Lynch quickly shared the article on social media to promote her work. Her post featured a confident, non-modest description of her success.

“Everyone’s FAVORITE wrestler turned actor will be starring in one of the most ICONIC franchises in TV history. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy premieres in January on Paramount+. You can get a sneak peek of just how AMAZING I look here. Small correction Collider, I’m not one of WWE’s biggest stars, I’M THE BIGGEST!” she stated.

Becky Lynch (real name Rebecca Quinn) has been incredibly successful since returning to WWE TV in 2025. Her run this year included a reign as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, a title she secured in July. Lynch is widely regarded as one of the best overall performers in the industry today.

Most recently, she dropped the Intercontinental Title to Maxxine Dupri on Raw at Madison Square Garden. The loss was part of a planned star-making effort for the 28-year-old Dupri. The manner of Lynch’s loss, however, immediately set up her current feud.

Lynch had joined her husband, Seth Rollins, earlier this year to face CM Punk and the latter’s wife, AJ Lee, at “Wrestlepalooza”. AJ Lee picked up the victory for her team in that mixed tag match. Lee also proved to be the pivotal factor in Lynch losing the title to Maxxine Dupri on Raw.

The ongoing feud between the two legendary stars is now set to accelerate. The seeds have been sown for a high-stakes singles match between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee. Given the magnitude of the personal rivalry, a singles match between them is widely expected to occur at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

In the immediate future, Becky Lynch and AJ Lee will clash again as part of the Women’s WarGames match at "Survivor Series" on November 29. The two will be on opposing teams in the steel cage match.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is scheduled to premiere with a two-episode debut on Paramount+ on January 15, 2026. The new series is set in the far future of the franchise, showcasing the first class of Starfleet cadets in over a century. The upcoming two-night WrestleMania 42 event is scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 18 and 19, 2026.
