Almost a decade on from its food truck beginnings, fast food chain KoKoDoo is now set to open the doors to its seventh UK location.
From January 2026, fans will be able to get hold of the brand’s award-winning Korean fried chicken at a new flagship restaurant on Fulham Broadway.
Founded in 2016 by Mary and Joseph Yoon, KoKoDoo has been a hit with diners ever since, thanks to its pared-back menu of hand-battered chicken bites, KFC burgers (Korea, not Kentucky) drizzled in a secret sauce, and fiery chilli glazed wings.
Foodie vlogger RollinJoint tried the burger after a friend said it was so good it gave them ‘goosebumps’, and said it was ‘the best in London’ with the ‘perfect balance of sweetness, spiciness, and saltiness.’

TikTok commenter Pauliedee63 agreed, describing KoKoDoo as ‘the best chicken [they’ve] ever had,’ while missdanniellaa hailed the restaurant as a ‘hidden gem’.
The sentiment is the same over on Reddit, where it’s regularly mentioned as a favourite spot for Korean fried chicken – one said it was the ‘closest to authentic’ option available on British shores, with another adding: ‘It’s very good. Generous portions, juicy chicken and decently priced.’
@rollinjointI’m not joking ‼️ My friend literally had goosebumps & we ended up having three times within one week. Kokodoo is a #koreanfriedchicken burger shop in #shoreditch & #camberwell ❤️ Honestly among all the KFC burgers, this is hands down the best in London 🔥 Thank you for the recommendation @keiryian I haven’t tried that many Korean fried chicken burgers, and let me know where your favourite restaurant is. Will definitely go try more ❤️ #londonfood #londonrestaurants #londonkoreanfood #shoreditchrestaurants #londoncheapeats

KoKoDoo currently operates from four London sites – in Shoreditch, Camberwell, Harrow and Chiswick – along with regional outposts in Bristol and Swansea (the latter of which is temporarily closed).
But whereas these existing locations are franchised, Fulham will be fully company-owned.
Managing director Joe Yoon told Propel in April that this is only the start of the brand’s ongoing expansion plans, with this launch paving the way for it to ‘scale rapidly’.

‘We haven’t yet had the chance to open a company-owned location, so this launch is a key milestone for us, after which we’ll fully resume our franchise expansion plans,’ he said.

According to Vhari Russell, food industry specialist and founder of The Food Marketing Experts, the country’s current fried chicken craze all boils down to the economy.
She told Metro that during turbulent times, such as a cost of living crisis, chicken is seen as an ‘affordable, familiar and versatile’ product.
‘It’s a lower-risk source of protein when costs are high and customers are cautious,’ she said. ‘It’s also perceived as being slightly “healthier” than beef or pork, so it appeals across demographics.’
