Posted on November 23 by the pet owner under @odd1ish, the short clip shows a small Maltipoo perched comfortably on top of a cushion, which itself rests squarely on the back of a small shih tzu—its canine sibling. The seemingly indifferent shih tzu lies motionless beneath the impromptu throne, while a retro synth instrumental soundtrack underscores the awkward timing of the moment.
The video’s on-screen caption reads: “Why is my dog sleeping on top of a pillow on top of my other dog.”
In the caption below, the dog owner added: “I guess that’s cozy for them.”

While dogs are known for their unconventional sleeping habits—from burrowing under blankets to curling into tight balls—this particular arrangement has delighted viewers for its absurdity and calm acceptance of both animals. The shih tzu, used as a bed frame in this scenario, does not flinch or protest, appearing entirely resigned or even content with the arrangement.
