The Celebrity Traitors contestant Ruth Codd has revealed she has had a second leg amputation, which requires her to use a wheelchair.

The Irish actor, who appeared in Netflix show The Fall Of The House Of Usher and 2025 blockbuster How To Train Your Dragon, had previously undergone a below-knee amputation after injuring her foot playing football.

On Wednesday (November 26), she revealed on TikTok that she had been through a second amputation, speaking from her parents’ home.

“Good news: we’ve had a full-circle moment, I’m back making TikTok content in my parents’ house,” she said. “Bad news: I can’t do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper anymore, due to the fact that that room is upstairs and I’ve just had my second below-knee amputation, so unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time.”

She sighed and admitted that there was “Lots to unpack there for everyone involved,” before revealing her wheelchair. “This is my new whip, I like to call her ‘Fat Tony’” she said. “She has a top speed of fuck all, however, especially if there’s a step involved.”

While she didn’t disclose the reasons for the procedure in that video, she had previously spoken about it during an interview on Under The Skin With Grace Neutral. She explained that, as with the first amputation, using crutches had meant the bones in her foot had deteriorated to the point of affecting her quality of life.

“With the second [amputation], it’s just the same situation, it was just my quality of life, it’s never going to get any better from this point, they can only kind of stop it from getting worse, and the amount of health problems and stuff I’ve had in the last year.”

She continued: “I haven’t let it stop me from doing anything. but I feel like it has hindered me and made my ability to do my job more difficult. And I’ve been through it once before, so I think with two prosthetics I’ll be pretty unstoppable.”

Codd was selected as a Faithful on the recent series of The Celebrity Traitors, but was ultimately “murdered” by Traitors Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Cat Burns in the fourth episode.
