By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe New Orleans Saints are looking to rebound against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, but the team is currently dealing with some big injuries. Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara are two major players the Saints need, but Kamara has been dealt some unfortunate news for the matchup.

Kamara suffered a sprained MCL in Week 12, which has now led to the running back having to sit out for Week 13.

Per Mike Triplett, Saints head coach Kellen Moore has ruled out Kamara ahead of the Dolphins game. The better news is that Chris Olave returned to practice, but remains questionable. Right tackle Taliese Fuaga and running back Devin Neal will suit up.

The Saints picked up a huge win against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, but the team stumbled against the Falcons in Week 12. The bigger issue is that Kamara suffered his knee injury in that game.
Sitting at 2-9 on the season, it is all but guaranteed that the Saints cannot make the playoffs. Even if they were to win out, there is a near-impossible chance the team makes it to the postseason.
That said, the plan for the team should be to evaluate the current talent on the team, so that the organization can assess and rebuild in 2026. One player that needs to prove himself is Tyler Shough. Should the rookie emerge as a better passer in the coming weeks, New Orleans can rebuild around him.
Moore will also be up for a steep evaluation, though he is a first-time head coach. It is believed that the Saints will keep Moore as head coach, and it will be up to him to help rebuild this roster back into a winner in 2026.
This leads to Kamara and his injury. Moore will have a tough decision to make along with the front office on whether the Saints keep him past the 2026 season. They may also look into trading him potentially.
Either way, Kamara will be out for Week 13, and possibly beyond that.
