There's no denying that Netflix's "Stranger Things" has become a pop culture phenomenon, capturing the attention of viewers around the globe. The streaming giant's recent premiere of the first volume of Season 5 revealed new twists and turns that some fans may never have seen coming.

The first volume featured four gripping episodes featuring a return to Hawkins and the group's fight to take down Vecna. That battle becomes even more imperative when another individual goes missing, and the crew bands together to end things once and for all.

Fan favorites, including Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schapp, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, David Harbour, Wynona Rider, and Gaten Matarazzo, returned for one final, dramatic, and action-packed run. Following the release of the first four episodes during Thanksgiving week, Netflix dropped some significant news.

All four episodes arrived on Wednesday, Nov. 27, giving viewers something to binge that day, or throughout their Thanksgiving holiday break. It would require watching the Netflix show for over four and a half hours to stay on track and avoid seeing spoilers online.

One of the biggest announcements arrived from Netflix on Tuesday, showcasing how wildly popular "Stranger Things" Season 5 was upon its premiere. According to Netflix, it achieved 59.6 million views, which made it "the biggest premiere week ever for an English language show" in the streamer's history.

It's no surprise that the premiere was heavily viewed, given that Netflix dropped it during a major holiday week after the anticipation built up over a seriously long wait. "Stranger Things" Season 4 premiered with its first volume in May 2022, giving fans over three years to contemplate the fates of Eleven, Will, Joyce, Hopper, Max, and others in Hawkins.

Along with that news, various accounts shared additional details about the Season 5 finale. According to Discussing Film, the finale runs two hours and five minutes, making it the second-longest episode of the final season.

That runtime also makes plenty of sense, since "Stranger Things" feels like an expertly crafted movie unfolding on television screens. It will also play out on actual movie screens, giving fans a perfect viewing venue to watch Vecna and his formidable opponents in their fierce battle.
