A Lay of the Land in Arc Raiders is a mission in spaceport that tasks you to find a LiDAR scanner, broken up into two steps: finding the shipping notes to work out where they've been sent, then using the clues to find the scanners themselves. Spaceport can often be one of the tougher maps in Arc Raiders, as the long sightlines make it easier to get spotted by players and robots alike. I'll lay out all the steps you need to take, so you can find your way to where you need to go.
A Lay of the Land walkthrough and guide
A Lay of the Land is broken up into three steps across the Spaceport map, but you need to complete both and extract successfully in a single run.
- Find the Shipping Notes in Jiangsu Warehouse: The warehouse is a minor location at the North side of the map. Once you reach it, go to the second floor on the Northwest side of the building, so you're in an office overlooking the sandy warehouse. On the desk should be an option to "collect notes".
- Locate the scanners on the upper floor of Control Tower A6: This high loot area is Southeast of the Launch Towers. Enter the east side of the building with the statue (shown above) and go up the stairs behind it. Go to the next floor up, and follow the South wall until you find a bunch of boxes near some office dividers. Interact with them to get the LiDAR scanner and add it to your inventory.
At this point you need to successfully extract with the LiDAR scanner, though if you're not using a free loadout in Arc Raiders you can just put it in your Safe Pocket so you can successfully complete the mission no matter what happens.

The challenge of this mission is that Jiangsu Warehouse and Control Tower A6 are pretty far apart, so if you spawn into a game without much time left, or if you're far away from the warehouse, you might need to sprint across the map – risking death in the process. That goes double once you reach the Control Tower, which as a high loot area, is likely to be a hotspot of activity.
