By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberPittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers had to miss Week 12 due to a wrist fracture he suffered in Week 11. After missing out a big game against the Chicago Bears, the team lost the game and their first-place status in the AFC North.

Now, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has provided a big update on the health of Aaron Rodgers following the team's loss.
Rodgers is one of the most durable quarterbacks in the NFL, but his wrist injury was clearly something that needed a little rest. The good news for the longtime veteran was that surgery was not needed, but he still had to miss one game.
The issue for the Steelers dropping the game to the Bears is that they have now lost their top position in the AFC North. Their divisional rivals in the Baltimore Ravens, secured their fifth win in a row and are now also at 6-5.
Baltimore has a better divisional record and is now in first place in the division. The teams have not yet met, but that will happen in the next two games.
Rodgers may have missed one game, but Tomlin has dropped a major update on his availability for Week 13.

Per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo, Tomlin stated that Rodgers should be ready to play against the New England Patriots in Week 13.

Granted, this is not a guarantee, as Tomlins said he "anticipates" that Rodgers will be ready, but there were reports that the veteran was close to playing in Week 12. Again, he likely needed a rest week to get healthy.
In Rodgers stead, Mason Rudlolph stepped in to start. He secured 171 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Steelers nearly won the game, but they couldn't catch the Bears in the final minutes, falling to a final score of 31-28.
Rodgers may have helped lead the team to a victory, but that was not the case. The AFC North is still very much open, and there are plenty of games left to play.
The Steelers and Ravens will face off against one another twice in the final games of the season, which should make for some exciting matchups if the pair of teams are still neck-and-neck.
