Bellinger was a star for the Yankees this season, but they fell short of the ultimate goal in the postseason, as they were bounced by the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series. To make matters worse, Cody Bellinger opted out of his contract and entered free agency.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently predicted the Yankees would retain Bellinger on a big contract this offseason.
...While Williams' 2025 season with the Yankees didn't go as expected, New York hasn't completely written him off yet," Knox wrote. "According to Rosenthal and Sammon, New York and the pitcher's camp have 'recently discussed the potential for a possible reunion.' The Yankees are also looking to bring back outfielder Cody Bellinger."
Re-signing Bellinger should be the Yankees' top priority this winter. They should make this a priority over signing anybody else, even Kyle Tucker.
Bellinger's bat and glove combine to make him one of the more valuable players in the American League. The Yankees can't afford to lose him, especially if they don't land a contract with Tucker.
It might cost a lot of money to bring Bellinger back, but it would be well worth it for the Bronx Bombers.
