It's been a very busy year for gaming controller releases, regardless of the platform you play on. I've reviewed new Xbox controllers, new gamepads for the Switch 2, plenty of funky PC controllers, and even a new PS5 pro controller. But Black Friday is here, and whether you're shopping for some early Christmas presents for the young gamer in your life, or for a new accessory for your own setup, I know exactly the ones you should look out for.
So here's how it'll work. To make things as easy as possible for you, I've put my favorite Black Friday controller deals right below this, choosing one for each platform. I've also used the quick links section to help you shop some of my other top picks quickly, but if you want to get more in-depth recommendations, I'll be updating this with live posts as I shop alongside you over the next few days. Those posts are where I'll tell you a bit more about each gamepad, and give you more reasons I think it could be a good pick for you. Let's get started.

Curated byDuncan RobertsonHardware Editor + Controller ReviewerI've been reviewing controllers non-stop for three years now. I know each brand and manufacturer behind each set of buttons, and between January and July of this year, I reviewed more than 10 controllers across different platforms. I know that a lot of these accessories can be pricey, so I'm always going to try and help your hard earned and carefully saved cash go as far as possible by finding good deals and giving you genuine recommendations to help you get the gamepad you want.

PS5

Victrix Pro BFG (White) | $179.99 $99.99 at AmazonSave $60 - Having been down to $119 last week, the BFG for PS5 has taken an even deeper cut to below $100, which I never expected to see. This is the cheapest any version of this controller has ever been, and it's more affordable than the black model, which had a record-low price of $130 going into Thanksgiving Week.
Buy it if:
✅ You want a modular controller for PS5 and PC✅ You want a controller for competitive gameplay✅ You want four back buttons
Don't buy it if:
❌ You don't clean your hardware regularly ❌ You play on Xbox or want rumble
UK: £160 at Amazon

Nacon Revolution X Unlimited | $199.99 $149.99 at AmazonSave $50 - If I really had to narrow it down to one winner, this is probably my favorite controller of 2025. It has a super premium feel, and this is the first time its price has ever dropped.
Buy it if:
✅ You want a premium controller for less✅ You want excellent face buttons
Don't buy it if:
❌ You want TMR thumbsticks, not Hall ones
UK: £154 at Amazon

8BitDo Ultimate 2 | $69.99 $55.99 at AmazonSave $15 - The 8Bit Ultimate 2 has been one of the most popular controllers of the year, and if you're shopping for a new pro gamepad for Switch 2 gameplay, this will give you even more functionality than Nintendo's official pro controller.
Buy it if:
✅ You want four extra buttons✅ You want TMR thumbsticks
Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather have the official Switch 2 pro controller
UK: £49.99 £42.48 at Amazon

PC really has the best of all worlds, because all of the above controllers are compatible with Windows, but if I had to pick just one controller deal this year I think most PC players would benefit from, it'd likely be this one.

GameSir G7 Pro | $79.99 $59.99 at Best BuySave $20 - The G7 Pro blends all round comfort and pro-level features to become one of the best gamepads to launch this year - so no wonder it's been one of the most sought after.
Buy it if:
✅ You want a great pro controller for PC or Xbox✅ You want TMR thumbsticks and four extra buttons
Don't buy it if:
❌ You want to play wirelessly on Xbox

Seriously, it might sound cool for a controller to have an interactive screen on it, but 90% of the time, that ends up being a bit of a useless gimmick that will have you asking, "Why did I pay more for this?"
The Manba One is one of my favorite gamepads of 2025. It has a fairly chunky screen on it, as you'll see from the image above, and while that might seem like an inconvenience, it actually gives you all the customization power that all the other pro controllers need a totally separate bit of PC software in order to equal.
Even without the big screen, this controller gets the basics right. It's perfectly comfortable, has four back buttons, Hall effect sticks, a charging stand, some swappable thumbsticks, and all in all, a great feel across loads of gaming genres.
