You know you’ve made it when the kids at your gig come dressed up as you. That’s what 2hollis experienced this week in London, when fans arrived at Brixton Academy cosplaying as the 21-year-old Chicago native. After making a name for himself on SoundCloud in the late 2010s, the US rapper blew up in 2024 thanks to the viral success of his third album Boy, its singles “jeans” and “crush”, plus a guest spot opening for Ken Carson’s Chaos Tour. That success snowballed in 2025 with the release of his fourth album Star – but Hollis’s conquering of youth culture was thrown into sharper relief this week when his London fans arrived at his gig with black lines drawn under their eyes and across their noses, a tribute to his signature make-up look.

Alongside the standout beauty moments, there was a lot to offer on the fashion front as well. The US star has always been known for his style – from head-to-toe Rick Owens to helping resurrect the 00s military jacket – so it’s no surprise the crowd he attracts are some of the best dressed in the city. In tribute to Hollis, the fans at his sold-out show went all in for leather, whether that was classic black bikers, other jackets in maroon and purple, big slouchy coats, skinny leather pants, bombers, racers, aviators – the list goes on and on. Faux fur also made a huge showing as well, with the fluffy stuff adorning jackets, trappers, cat ear headwarmers and chunky Moon Boots.

Elsewhere, other waiflike young men seemed to copy Hollis’s style to the letter, appearing in fleshbaring tops and skinny jeans, while others wore the rapper’s merch with his signature <2 symbol splashed across it. Like an intense mish-mash of 90s grunge, 00s emo, and 2010s #swag, accessories ranged from laddered tights to spiked chokers and chunky beanies to cornea-shattering, diamantéd belts. And as expected, the man himself didn’t let us down either, performing on stage in custom McQueen, before changing into a military inspired look à la MCR’s The Black Parade.
